Victoria’s Independent Broad-based Anti-corruption Commission, IBAC has confirmed it is investigating allegations of police misconduct which have been the subject of media reports on the 3rd of April.
IBAC confirmed it is investigating serious allegations of excessive use of force by Victoria Police officers following the receipt of video footage and other relevant information.
IBAC clarified that Victoria Police, as their employer, is responsible for determining whether the officers are ‘stood down’ from policing duties while they are subject to investigation.
As these matters are currently being investigated, IBAC is unable to comment further.
