NIST has released the final version of NISTIR 8219 Securing Manufacturing Industrial Control Systems: Behavioral Anomaly Detection report
Improving Security using Behavioral Anomaly Detection
The NCCoE, in conjunction with the NIST Engineering Laboratory, has developed an example solution that demonstrates how manufacturing organizations can use behavioral anomaly detection to improve the security of its Industrial Control Systems (ICS). This report helps manufacturers detect and mitigate cyberattacks while also highlighting anomalous conditions not related to a cyberattack.
Standards and best practices were used while deploying using commercially available technologies. This report also maps capabilities to the NIST Cybersecurity Framework and documents how these standards-based controls can support many of the security requirements of manufacturers.
