CrowdStrike has appointed Jonathon Dixon (pictured) as vice president and managing director for Japan and Asia Pacific, placing an experienced regional operator at the helm of one of its key international markets.

Based across the Japan and Asia Pacific theatre, Dixon will be responsible for overseeing CrowdStrike’s regional strategy, operations and market execution at a time when demand for cybersecurity services continues to grow alongside digital transformation and AI adoption.

Dixon brings more than 25 years of experience in cybersecurity and enterprise IT leadership roles across the region. Most recently, he served as vice president and managing director for Japan and Asia Pacific at Verkada, where he led regional go-to-market and operational teams. Prior to that, he held senior leadership roles at Cloudflare, including vice president and managing director for Asia Pacific, Japan and Greater China, during a period of rapid regional expansion for the company.

Earlier in his career, Dixon held leadership positions with major technology vendors including AWS, Cisco and IBM, managing large regional portfolios and working across sales execution, partner ecosystems and operational scale.

CrowdStrike president Michael Sentonas said the appointment reflects the company’s focus on strengthening its regional leadership as organisations reassess their security architectures in response to evolving threat activity and increasing use of AI-enabled systems.

The Japan and Asia Pacific region remains a competitive and strategically important market for global cybersecurity vendors, with organisations facing a mix of legacy infrastructure, regulatory complexity and rapidly expanding cloud and AI deployments. Vendors have increasingly sought experienced regional leaders who can balance local market dynamics with global platform strategies.

Dixon said his focus will be on supporting organisations across the region as they adapt their security approaches to meet changing threat conditions.

The appointment follows a broader trend among large cybersecurity vendors to invest in senior regional leadership as growth opportunities outside North America become more central to long-term strategy.
