CrowdStrike and VAST Data have announced new integrations aimed at extending cybersecurity controls across AI infrastructure, enterprise data access and AI pipelines, as organisations scale production AI.
The companies said the integrations embed CrowdStrike capabilities into VAST Data’s AI Operating System, including native support for the CrowdStrike Falcon sensor, alongside planned integrations with Falcon Next-Gen SIEM and Falcon Guardian, CrowdStrike’s AI Detection and Response (AIDR) offering.
In a note to media accompanying the release, the companies positioned the work as relevant to Australian and New Zealand organisations seeking to reduce sensitive data exposure and detect threats such as AI prompt injection before they reach AI systems. The note also linked the announcement to Australia’s proposed Privacy Act reforms and draft AI guardrails, which place emphasis on protecting personally identifiable information (PII).
“The security boundary for AI can’t stop at the infrastructure. Enterprises need to understand who is accessing their data, how that data is moving through AI pipelines and what is happening when applications and models interact with it,” said VAST CEO Renen Hallak.
According to the release, the integrations are intended to address risks that emerge as AI environments become more interconnected and data moves between infrastructure, users, models and agents. VAST audit telemetry is expected to feed into CrowdStrike Falcon Next-Gen SIEM to support correlation of activity across VAST environments and broader enterprise systems, while Falcon Guardian is set to integrate with VAST InsightEngine to surface sensitive or risky information as data is ingested and prepared for AI knowledge bases and workflows.
The companies said the combined approach could help organisations identify and classify sensitive information such as PII, and detect attacks including prompt injection and jailbreak attempts.
On availability, the release said native CrowdStrike Falcon sensor support for VAST is certified and available now, while integrations with Falcon Next-Gen SIEM and Falcon Guardian are available in private preview.
