CIO Australia - SydneyMedia Corp International was proud to conclude the 2015 CIO Leaders Summit Australia, occurring on February 18th – 19th. This two-day event brought CIO’s and IT leaders together as they partook in closed door sessions in order to exchange knowledge and interact over a range of key issues facing the industry. Over the course of the event, topics were discussed around the constantly changing IT role during this digital shift. All of the sessions targeted the challenges facing the IT industry today including a focus on security in the cloud and analytics as our attendees met on a common ground in order to better understand their evolving working environment.

Topics discussed at the event including the “Digitisation of Everything,” explored how organisations are required to change alongside constantly evolving technology. Participating in this presentation, Chris Cubbage, Director & Executive Director at My Security Media Pty Ltd highlighted the requirement of learning a new IT language and therefore translating that language in order to keep company employees and board members on the same page.

This unique networking opportunity allowed our attendees to foster new relations with their industry peers and  featured over 120 attendees from across the industry present as well as 80 CIO leaders from Australia and over 25 high level speakers on site. The speaker sessions and keynote presentations were given by CIO’s and IT leaders as they provided their professional insight and experience on among a range of topics concerning the industry. Think tanks, panel discussions and pre-arranged one to one meetings allowed our attendees to keep themselves up to date in the technology sector.

A main highlight for our attendees included stepping aboard the MV Epicure in Darlingharbour where Willie Mason spoke about, “Keeping Your Eye on the Ball.” Willie shared his experience of an 18-year high profile career and related the many aspects of his fast-paced world to today’s IT industry. He talked about his determination to succeed, coming from a troubled background and spoke on the importance of leadership in any professional career.

Media Corp International is proudly sponsoring Bear Cottage and is extremely proud to have kicked off this effort by raising nearly $3,000 at the CIO Leaders Australia Summit. Willie Mason contributed to supporting this great cause where his signed 2006 Four Nations jersey and signed Manly Sea Eagles playing Jersey were auctioned off. Bear Cottage, “Where Life is For Living,” is a children’s hospice dedicated to caring for children with life-limiting conditions. We are very proud to be supporting such an amazing cause and thank everyone that participated in the CIO Leaders Australia Summit to assist these efforts.
