Sovereign healthcare cloud provider 3verest says it is expanding its healthcare AI platform using Equinix Fabric Geo Zones to help keep not only patient data but also AI inference, prompts and network traffic within national borders.
In a statement provided to MySecurity Media, 3verest said the approach is intended to help hospitals, medical imaging providers and healthcare technology companies adopt AI while maintaining jurisdictional control over sensitive clinical data, including during network failover and rerouting events.
The company said it is using Equinix Fabric Geo Zones to enforce “sovereignty at the network layer”, reflecting a shift in regulatory and risk concerns from where data is stored to where AI workloads run and how data moves between connected services.
3verest said its services are used by healthcare organisations across Australia, the UK, Germany, the US, Canada and the European Union, and that it is extending its platform to support cross-border expansion while keeping workloads within local sovereign boundaries.

Equinix vice president of digital interconnection Arun Dev said the sovereignty problem increasingly involves network paths across multiple providers, not just data residency settings within a single cloud environment.

According to the release, 3verest’s healthcare AI platform includes Bifrost, described as a sovereign AI environment combining GPU infrastructure, retrieval-augmented generation, AI models and managed AI services; Forge, a developer platform built on Firecracker micro-VM technology; and Heimdall, described as a control layer between healthcare applications and AI models that routes prompts and applies guardrails within a sovereign boundary.
Equinix said Fabric Geo Zones is designed to keep traffic within defined geographic boundaries across interconnected clouds and providers. The company said the capability is available across its global footprint, including Australia, Brazil, Canada, Japan, Switzerland, the UK, the US and the European Union.
