Capgemini has announced a pro-bono relationship with Big Brothers Big Sisters Australia (BBBSA) to help deliver an improved online management system to enable more young Australians to have the opportunity to realise their full potential.

The agreement has seen Capgemini implement a Microsoft Dynamics 365 solution to assist Big Brothers Big Sisters Australia to streamline processes, allowing the not-for-profit organisation to increase efficiencies and free up critical time to allow staff to focus where it matters, continuing to change the lives of thousands of young people across Australia.

Big Brothers Big Sisters Australia has 40 years’ experience providing intensive one-to-one mentoring programs that are designed to respond to the individual needs of young people aged between 7 – 17 years, particularly those considered to be socially and emotionally isolated. By matching young people with positive role models, BBBSA mentoring programs provide a supportive space to help improve resilience, self-esteem, foster a sense of belonging and establish stronger community connections.

Sarah Downie, CEO at Big Brothers Big Sisters Australia said, “This recent implementation by Capgemini will build capacity in our operations. The new Microsoft solution implemented by Capgemini will increase efficiencies right across our entire team with the online management of volunteers, mentoring matches and the facilitation of the donor support.

Our objective is to provide mentoring services to support even more vulnerable young people in need of a positive role model and reduce waiting lists. The new platform developed by Capgemini will provide an excellent foundation to scale our operations more effectively.”

The solution was implemented within a 14-week timeframe leveraging the Capgemini Agile Framework and included end user training, deployment and post-deployment support as needed.

Anne McGirr, Head of HR at Capgemini Asia Pacific said, “We are thrilled to be working with Big Brothers Big Sisters to help inspire positive change in the young people of Australia by contributing our talent and skills to this initiative.”

“We are committed in assisting them with our diverse pool of talent and expertise to ensure they develop their mentoring programs and create positive, meaningful and measurable change in our local communities for our young Australians. We are pleased to continue our support for this foundation as part of our overall corporate responsibility and sustainability program. At Capgemini, we have set out to improve the lives of a million people by 2020 with various programs similar to the BBBS project.  Today our initiatives currently benefit more than 735,000 people around the world.” said McGirr.

Capgemini has been a proud supporter of the Big Brothers Big Sisters Australia since 2015.  Some of the initiatives included the Capgemini Charity Gala and the Big Brothers Big Sisters 2018 Million $ Challenge, with all proceeds raised going towards helping BBBSA mentor more vulnerable young people across Australia.
