Centrify LogoUnified identity management leader Centrify has appointed technology industry veteran Derek Morwood as regional sales manager, responsible for Australia, New Zealand and India.

With a pedigree that includes senior sales roles with Lan1, Opengear, Snapgear and Stallion Technologies, Derek takes this new job after two years as internal sales representative for Centrify, the leader in unified identity management across data centre, cloud and mobile.

Derek’s first moves include recruiting more partners for Centrify in Australia, New Zealand and India and appointing a new internal sales representative at Centrify’s Australian office in Brisbane. In Australia and New Zealand, Centrify sells 100 per cent through channel partners.

Derek Morwood’s promotion to regional sales manager follows Centrify’s recent appointment of Niall King as Senior Director APAC Sales, operating out of Centrify’s Silicon Valley head office and Japan.

Derek said his primary focus was to support partners to win larger enterprise contracts. “In the US, Centrify has half the Fortune 50 companies and 60-plus government agencies as clients,” he said.

“Our goal is to build our momentum to win more of these blue chip accounts in Australia and the broader region. My regional sales role frees me up to focus on these sorts of opportunities, both in Australia and in New Zealand, where we have a lot of great potential. I also believe India will become huge for us.”

Drawing on a decade of experience protecting the security of enterprise clients, Centrify is uniquely placed to capitalise on explosive demand for cloud-based security as companies of all sizes embrace the Identity-as-a-Service (IDaaS) model, also known as “Cloud Identity”.

Centrify last month announced it has become the first company in the IDaaS market to pass the milestone of supporting more than 2000 customers in the cloud.
