KnowBe4 has launched an email and collaboration security product for Google Workspace, targeting phishing, business email compromise (BEC) and AI-driven attacks.
The new release, called Defend for Google Workspace, extends KnowBe4’s Defend email security portfolio and is delivered via an API-native integration with Google Workspace, according to the company.
KnowBe4 said the product uses a multi-engine behavioural AI model trained on “more than 1.15 billion daily event signals” from its telemetry, and is intended to identify threats such as BEC, “zero-payload” phishing and prompt injection attacks that the company said can evade native Google controls.
“Google empowers productivity and collaboration. KnowBe4 protects the digital workforce,” said Greg Kras, chief product officer at KnowBe4. “Together, this new release enhances the email and collaboration security that IT and security professionals need to better protect their organisations.”
In an early adopter program, KnowBe4 said Defend for Google Workspace processed 539,384 emails and intercepted 810 “dangerous threats” — which it described as 1 in every 666 emails — as well as 5,491 “suspicious threats” that it said had passed native Google protections. The company also said the platform classified 361,070 “productivity-related emails”, saving early adopters an average of 10.96 hours per week.
KnowBe4 also said the product can integrate with PhishER Plus to “hunt down, pull back, and neutralise” similar threats across enterprise Gmail inboxes in under two minutes after a malicious variant is confirmed.
Defend for Google Workspace is scheduled to be available on September 15, 2026 for KnowBe4 customers running Google Workspace across SMB, mid-market and enterprise environments, the company said.
