Phillip RussoWhilst at the High Technology Crime Investigation Association’s (HTCIA) International Conference in Summerlin (Las Vegas) USA in October 2013, Australia’s Phillip Russo was delegated by the International committee to be one of four International Executive Ambassadors.  Phillip’s appointment will place him as the go to person for matters concerning the HTCIA in Australia, New Zealand and the Asia /Pacific region. As a leading cybercrime and forensic consultant, Phillip is well respected in the field, especially in Australia and Hong Kong. In 2010 Phillip was the first non local HK resident to be voted into office as Vice President. Here he has been instrumental in promoting the HTCIA and building its membership within Australia.

Phillip said “ my duties will involve representing  the HTCIA across Australasia promoting the benefits of membership, new chapters and especially educational opportunities. Identifying  events  for the HTCIA to be involved in and developing policy regarding High Tech Crime Investigation and training. As the regional coordinator I’ll be assisting to establish chapters and expand the member base”.

“I am keen to involve fellow computer forensic investigators and security professionals alike. Opportunities presented by the HTCIA community include a membership portal providing  access to people, technical  resources and a knowledge base second to none within this niche area. Currently,  Australia’s closest chapter is Hong Kong but one of my immediate goals will be to establish the first Australian Chapter. All this whilst continuing to run my own practice, CIA Solutions, will mean it’s going to be a busy 2014, but this field is my passion.”

To contact Phillip Russo about the HTCIA or meet with him personally by attending the HTCIA conference in Hong Kong 2nd – 4th December this year http://2013.htcia.asia. The Australian Security Magazine and Asia Pacific Security Magazine are media partners to this event.
