SailPoint has announced a new integration with Anthropic’s Claude Compliance API, adding a connector designed to give organisations visibility and governance over access to Claude Enterprise within SailPoint’s Identity Security Cloud.
The company said the connector is intended to address emerging identity and access control challenges associated with enterprise use of generative AI tools, including governance of “non-human identities” such as AI agents. It also framed the integration as a response to “Shadow AI”, describing the risk that AI usage can become difficult for IT and security teams to detect and manage.
“While the industry discusses the future of AI security, SailPoint is delivering it today. As Anthropic makes its Compliance API available, SailPoint is building a meaningful, governance-focused integration,” said Chandra Gnanasambandam, EVP of Product and Chief Technology Officer, SailPoint. “This gives our customers the ability to not just monitor, but truly govern their AI workforce from day one, treating AI platform access with the same rigor and contextual understanding as they would for a critical application or datastore.”
According to SailPoint, the connector supports centralised management of Claude Enterprise users, groups, group members and roles. The company also said it can be used to discover and govern Claude AI agents through what it calls a single agent registry, and to apply adaptive access controls based on context.
The announcement comes as organisations expand the use of generative AI assistants and agentic workflows, increasing the number of identities and permissions that must be managed. Identity teams have been warning that AI platforms can introduce new pathways for data access, prompt and tool misuse, and unsanctioned adoption, particularly when governance is fragmented across security and IT teams.
SailPoint said the connector for the Claude Compliance API covering Claude Enterprise is available now to customers of the SailPoint Identity Security Cloud.
