Seagate LogoSeagate Technology, a world leader in storage solutions, has announced it has launched its Seagate Rescue services in Australia for the Seagate Surveillance HDD product line. The Seagate Rescue services will be delivered in partnership with Q Security Systems and Rhino Co Technology, key surveillance solutions providers in Australia.

Seagate is the first storage solutions provider to offer a complete protection plan that covers drive replacement and data recovery services for data that is contained on the drive. This protection plan covers data recovery services at a fraction of the cost of data recovery services purchased after the event, and keeps systems in the field longer and reduces post-deployment expenses.

Seagate Rescue services offer coverage for a period of three years from the time of purchase for data that may have been lost due to physical damage, corruption or accidental deletion. A fast and easy recovery process, Seagate Rescue services can typically restore data within two weeks, depending on the type of recovery— with up to a greater than 90 percent success rate in data recovery.

Engineered specifically for surveillance and video analytics applications, the Surveillance HDD product line is available in capacities ranging from 1TB to 4TB, with 5TB and 6TB configurations soon to be released in Australia.

“Over 50 percent of users who had an accident with their drive have experienced data loss,” said Balaji Thangaraj, vice president for research at Boston Analytics. “The Seagate Surveillance HDD with Seagate Rescue services provides consumers and system integrators alike with the critical reliability they expect in an easy, affordable solution, enabling them to gain peace of mind that their content is protected.”

“The video surveillance data is invaluable to the user to either meet industry regulations or leverage for content analysis or security— so when data loss occurs it’s an expense to the customer.” said Rex Dong, managing director of Asia, Seagate Technology. “We are delighted to offer Seagate Rescue services to Australian customers with leading surveillance solutions providers like Q Security Systems and Rhino Co Technology and address these issues head on.”
“We are looking forward to working with Seagate and being able to offer surveillance and Rescue services for the DVR (Digital Video Recorder) and NVR (Network Video Recorder) storage applications,” said Stanley EL Komala, National Product Manager of Q Security Systems. “Seagate Rescue services will complement our security system portfolio, enabling us to deliver both data protection and security and to provide greater support for our customers.”

“The Seagate Rescue services are essential for any Video Surveillance system. Not only is it a reliable storage solution, but it also has a guaranteed disaster recovery plan that will offer our customers the assurance they can rely on for the retrieval of their most crucial video footage,” said Nathan Walters, Sales Engineer of Rhino Co. Technology. “With more than 30 years in the electronic security industry behind us, we strive to support our valued customers with the best products. We believe that with Seagate’s partnership and integration of its surveillance and Rescue services, we have come a step closer to achieving our goal.”
