Joint session details successful, secure cloud migration

Trend Micro LogoTrend Micro Incorporated is reinforcing its position as a global cloud security leader at AWS re:Invent 2015 by sharing best practices learned from thousands of customers using Trend Micro security solutions built on the AWS Cloud.

“The cloud offers significant value in terms of functionality and security. With the right security partner you can multiply that value,” said Mark Nunnikhoven, vice president, cloud research, Trend Micro. “Deploying on the AWS Cloud is the right choice for many organisations, but your choice in partners makes a huge difference in the overall experience. Trend Micro has successfully worked with customers around the globe using our Deep Security platform to quickly and easily meet security responsibilities. I’m looking forward to attending and presenting at AWS re:Invent to demonstrate why Trend Micro is the security partner of choice.”

Trend Micro customer, Infor, an enterprise business software provider servicing nearly 45 million users, understood the importance of AWS’ shared security model when transitioning to the cloud. The company will be on hand to discuss the unique challenges it faced when moving and protecting large-scale workloads on the AWS Cloud.

“A better understanding of how AWS and Trend Micro work together to enhance workload security and visibility will help CISOs make better decisions to drive business growth,” said Jim Hoover, vice president, chief information security officer, Infor. “Our security and operations teams are providing more value than ever before due, in part, to the proven capabilities of Trend Micro Deep Security and the AWS Cloud.”

Infor’s experience is the basis of a session, “Lessons from a CISO: How to securely scale teams, workloads, & budgets” (DVO206) on October 8, 2015 at 2:45pm. Participants include:

  • Jim Hoover, CISO, Infor
  • Matt Yanchyshyn, senior manager, Solutions Architecture, Amazon Web Services
  • Adam Boyle, director of product management, AWS cloud security, Trend Micro

This presentation will help chief information security officers (CISOs) jump-start their migration by analysing key takeaways from Infor’s experiences in large-scale AWS deployment. Hoover will provide insight to the changes the company has experienced in terms of network design and architecture, team adjustments and training, as well as the greater visibility C-suite executives have gained through the AWS cloud.

At AWS re:Invent, Trend Micro will also share additional AWS security tips in another breakout session focusing on automating security and operations in the AWS Cloud.  Experts will be on hand at booth No. 1004 to showcase how Trend Micro Deep Security can help accelerate cloud projects with comprehensive, proactive security without impacting agility or performance.
